Become A Volunteer Admin/Controller

volunteer-admin-smallDo you have key administrative or coordination skills? Then we need to hear from you.

Putting our riders on the road, coordinating the many calls from hospitals and organising the activities of Blood Bikes East takes an enormous amount of work. If you have these skills and any amount of spare time, then you can help us. It doesn’t matter if you don’t ride motorbikes, for this vital work we need your brain, not riding skills.

 

To Volunteer For Blood Bikes East As An Admin You Must:

  • Be over 18
  • Have at least a day a month of spare time to volunteer as a general admin (can be weekends and made up of 2 or 3 sessions)
  • Be available and able to attend coordination meetings (typically 1 evening per month)
  • Be familiar with PCs and software such Microsoft Word & Excel and be able to send emails
  • Be willing to submit to full Garda vetting

 

To Volunteer For Blood Bikes East As A Controller You Must:

  • Be over 18
  • Be able and willing to commit to 1 week of out-of-hours phone answering duty every 6 to 8 weeks
  • Have excellent telephone manner
  • Be able to manage urgent, emergency and sometimes stressful periods
  • Be available and able to attend coordination meetings (typically 1 evening per month)
  • Be familiar with PCs and software such Microsoft Word & Excel and be able to send emails
  • Be willing to submit to full Garda vetting

 

The hospitals and sponsors/partners we work with require assurance that our volunteers are completely trustworthy. As a result all administrative volunteers will be interviewed and fully Garda vetted.
